These Diablo 4 Season 15 tips are for players who already know the game and are losing time to old habits. They apply to Season of Hell's Legacy on patch 3.2.2 and were checked in October 2026 against Blizzard's season blog and patch notes, Maxroll's resource pages and wudijo's public Season 15 spreadsheet. Lord of Hatred and the 3.2.1 patch changed enough rules that several things that used to be correct are now simply wrong.
New here? Start with this
Most of this list assumes an endgame character. If you are still leveling, three of the ten matter right now:
- Do not Transfigure gear early. Transfiguration in the Horadric Cube adds a bonus but almost always locks the item against further changes.
- Do not rush Torment tiers. Move up when the current one feels easy, not when the next one unlocks.
- Keep an eye on white items. Plain, normal-quality gear is the base for the classic runewords added this season.
Terms used below: a Mythic Unique is a max-rolled Unique; the Crafted tag marks certain Cube-made items; War Plans are the activity playlists from Tyrael in Temis; a partition is the combination of Seasonal or Eternal, Hardcore or not, and Solo Self-Found or not.
Mistakes 1 to 5: items and experience
1. Transfiguring a Unique you plan to make Mythic
The Cube's Upgrade Direct Item to Mythic recipe copies your Unique one to one, keeping affixes, Tempering and Masterworking. Blizzard's season blog states the catch: it cannot be used on an Unmodifiable item. Maxroll's Cube page estimates that Transfiguration leaves an item modifiable only about 1 time in 16. Upgrade first, Transfigure last.

2. Planning around several Cube-made Mythics
A Mythic made with that direct recipe gets the Crafted tag, and you can equip only one Crafted item. Mythics from the Jeweler's Rune Crafting or the Blacksmith's cache do not carry it. Maxroll's loot table adds that Uniques converted from Boss Trophies are Crafted too. wudijo's sheet notes one way out, which I could not confirm elsewhere: three upgraded Mythics combined in the Cube give a clean one without the tag.

3. Stacking All Resistance out of habit
Patch 3.2.1 made single-resistance affixes worth seven times an All Resistance affix on gear, Charms and Tempers. That flips the old maths for any build that cares about one element. It also matters for Stone of Jordan: Maxroll's writers point out that your highest resistance has to match your damage type to get its bonus.
4. Hiding white items in the loot filter
The classic runewords are made by putting runes and a normal-quality base item into the Cube, and Maxroll confirms an Ancestral base produces an Ancestral runeword. If you hide commons you never see those bases. The Auscraft secrets page notes a workaround: strip affixes from a Magic or Rare item in the Cube until it becomes common.
Two related filter notes from wudijo: do not hide non-Ancestral Uniques, because salvaging them feeds the Baleful Fragment to Forgotten Soul conversion at the Alchemist, and salvage Rare and better Talisman items for resin. A recent r/diablo4 PSA adds a nastier case: a rule that hides non-Ancestral items also hides Mythic Seals unless a separate Show rule sits above it.
5. Grinding the Pit for Paragon experience
For years the Pit was the experience farm. Maxroll's Paragon guide now ranks it last per minute among endgame activities in its Season 14 measurements, far behind hunting Hellwyrms in Helltide with the Writhe and Rot node. Patch 3.2.1 did raise Pit experience (Pit 150 went from 1800% to 2700% bonus) and trimmed some Helltide orb drops, but wudijo's Season 15 sheet still lists the Hellwyrm route at about 2 billion experience per hour, against roughly 800 million per hour in his Torment 12 estimate. Use the Pit for glyphs.
Mistakes 6 to 10: progression and characters
6. Forcing the next Torment as soon as it unlocks
wudijo's difficulty tab has each Torment step multiplying monster health by about 4.8. Torment 10 to 12 is roughly 23 times the health for an experience rate that only rises from about 685 to 800 million per hour. Maxroll's endgame guide reaches the same conclusion in words: farming activities are efficient when you clear them quickly, so change difficulty only when you can do the matching Pit levels.
7. Taking every glyph to 150
In wudijo's sample calculation, glyphs at 150 give about 1.38 times the damage of glyphs at 110. The upgrade chance per attempt is the problem: in his example it is 100% up to 120, 70% up to 130, then 16% and 8%. For a set of five glyphs he puts 110 to 130 at about 40 minutes and 130 to 150 at more than five hours. Unless you are pushing the Tower, that time buys more elsewhere.
8. Farming any boss for a Mythic Unique
Since 3.2.1, Mythic Uniques from Initiate and Greater Lair Bosses and from Belial's Hoard come only from that boss's own Unique pool, with a small chance of others through generic loot. Sources disagree on Iconic Mythics: Maxroll's loot table says any boss can drop them, while wudijo's sheet lists one specific Iconic per boss. Either way, check the boss loot table before spending keys.
9. Letting a Hardcore character die with no backup
War Plans progress is now shared within a partition, but Blizzard's blog is specific about Hardcore: a dead character's progress only reaches Eternal at season end if another living Hardcore character in the same partition goes through the changeover. A level 1 storage character is enough.
10. Using Rebirth with gear still on the character
Rebirth converts an Eternal character to a level 1 Seasonal one. It will not run until the character has nothing equipped or in its bags, and anything you choose not to move is destroyed. Empty it into the Eternal stash first.

The Hellfire Torch, briefly
MacroBioBoi's video walks through the Torch unlock and is flagged as a spoiler. Maxroll's written steps: collect the three Prime Evil Splinters from their Capstone fights, turn them into Wirt's Lucky Coins in the Cube, complete Deckard's Journey and use the fountain in the Echo of Tristram. The bug where the fountain ate a coin without opening the portal was fixed in Hotfix 4 on September 22.
For veterans
A few smaller traps that did not make the ten:
- Old warnings linger. Maxroll's War Plans page still warns that the Infernal Deception node gives no loot. The 3.2.1 notes list that bug as fixed. Check a guide's last-updated date against the patch.
- War Plans must be done in order. Blizzard's launch FAQ says an activity done out of sequence gives no credit toward that plan.
- Opinions differ on the Whispers tree. Maxroll paths toward Resplendent Favor; wudijo's sheet calls the Spark node bait and tells you to salvage Mythics instead.
- The charm setup is tolerated, not blessed. Blizzard said the Hellfire Torch interaction is unintended and will be revisited, just not this season.
- Farm Baal for the legacy Uniques. Maxroll found all three Prime Evil Capstones share the same pool, and Baal's runs are the shortest.
- Skip weak Waking Nightmares. wudijo rates Unholy Altar good and Tal Rasha's Tomb, Lester's Farm, Scouring of Caldeum and Forgotten Tower bad.
- Week-one farm videos are stale. The Council loop, endless Butcher spawns and the Edge runeword trick were all patched by September 30.
