The Diablo 4 Season 15 best builds are easier to name than usual, because the main tier lists mostly agree. This round-up is for Season of Hell's Legacy on patch 3.2.2, checked in October 2026, and leans on Maxroll's tier lists (last updated September 26), Rob2628's list on D4Builds.gg and creator notes from the first Tower leaderboard cycle. For each pick you get the reason it is strong and the part that will annoy you.
New here? Start with this
A tier list ranks builds once they are fully geared. Early on, ease of play matters more. If this is your first season, choose from the builds below that are described as simple, then follow a single written guide from start to finish. Do not mix advice from two planners.
Three low-stress picks:
- Blood Wave Necromancer. Maxroll's guide calls it a one-button build, and it sits in S tier overall.
- Lacerate Druid. Described as low-APM and close to self-playing, with S tier for speedfarming.
- Whirlwind Barbarian. Hold one button, shout, keep moving.
Every Maxroll guide has Starter, Midgame and Endgame variants. Stay on Starter until you own the items the next variant asks for.
The short list
Maxroll's overall endgame list has ten builds in S tier: Blazing Scream Warlock, Counterswarm Spiritborn, Blood Wave Necromancer, Apocalypse Warlock, Stinger Spiritborn, Whirlwind Barbarian, Poison Penetrating Shot Rogue, Shield of Retribution Paladin, Firewall Sorcerer and Dance of Knives Rogue. Rob2628's S tier on D4Builds.gg overlaps heavily: Blazing Scream, Apocalypse, Firewall, Penetrating Shot, Whirlwind and Blood Wave are S on both. His list also puts Rain of Arrows, Charge, Death Trap, a Thorns build and Pestilent Swarm at the top.
Build by build
Blazing Scream Warlock
The consensus best build. It is S tier overall, S+ for pushing and S for speedfarming and bossing on Maxroll, and Rob2628's video guide calls it the best build of the season by far. Strengths: mobility and an easy hand-over from the leveling version. Weak spots: constant casting, you have to aim skulls at walls for full damage, and you manage two resources.

Apocalypse Warlock
The calmer Warlock. Maxroll lists it as easy to play and quick to come online, with screen-wide explosions. It shares the S+ push tier with Blazing Scream. The cost is a combo with a ramp-up and mediocre mobility, which is why it drops to A for speedfarming.
Blood Wave Necromancer
Lord of Hatred turned Blood Wave into a spammable Core Skill, and the guide's pros are speed, strong healing and very high damage on packs and bosses. The only listed con is that it leans on gear early. It is A tier for pushing, so it is a farmer first.
Whirlwind Barbarian
Barbarian took real nerfs in 3.2.1, including a lower Strength scalar, and still landed here. Snail's week-one note on Maxroll sums it up: "it's another Season of spinning". Pros are speed and area clear; cons are Fury sustain and cooldown requirements. For the Tower, Barbarians switch to Flame Charge, which Snail describes as tactical, clunky and fragile.
Poison Penetrating Shot Rogue
S tier on all four Maxroll lists. The guide says it clears all content without special gear, and that its damage is unconditional, which helps on bosses. Cons: average survivability, positioning matters, and it eats Energy. Dance of Knives is the alternative if you want to spin; it is also the top Rogue pick for leveling.
Shield of Retribution Paladin
Thorns thrown as a shield. It is S overall, S for pushing and bossing, and strong at every stage of gearing. You pay with short range and standing still while you deal damage. Paladin as a class also offers the best group support in the game through Auras, according to wudijo's class ranking.

Firewall Sorcerer
The top Sorcerer by a distance and S+ for pushing. Maxroll's guide lists it as very tanky with excellent area damage, but tricky, dependent on a full charm set and unable to move fast. Northwar notes that Blizzard and Ice Spikes got buffs and clear endgame, while staying well behind Firewall in raw damage.
Stinger Spiritborn
Spiritborn finally has more than one answer. Counterswarm survived its nerfs and is still S, and Stinger rose to S after the buffs to Rod of Kepeleke builds. Stinger is easy to start and has great area damage; the guide itself calls it a piano build.
Lacerate Druid
Druid has no S-tier build on Maxroll's overall list. Lacerate is A overall and S for speedfarming, and the guide stresses how simple it is. It is only B for pushing; Landslide, Storm Strike and Tornado sit higher on that list.
Rhykker's top-ten video for Season 15 links ten builds in its description. Seven are covered above (Blazing Scream, Firewall, Blood Wave, Apocalypse, Penetrating Shot, Stinger and Shield of Retribution); the other three are Rain of Arrows Rogue, Charge Barbarian and Tornado Druid.
Pick by what you actually do
- Farming Torment and Helltides: Whirlwind, Blood Wave, Lacerate, Blazing Scream.
- Lair bosses: Blazing Scream, Blood Wave, Penetrating Shot, either Rain of Arrows Rogue.
- Pit and Tower pushing: Blazing Scream, Apocalypse, Firewall, then Penetrating Shot, Flame Charge, Stinger and Shield of Retribution.
- Leveling a new character: Maxroll's leveling list favours Dance of Knives and Barrage Rogue, Frenzy Throw Barbarian, Minion Necromancer, Blizzard Sorcerer, Shield of Retribution Paladin and Stinger Spiritborn. Blazing Scream is only B tier there.
For veterans
- Runewords and Crushing Blow moved the ceiling. In Maxroll's Tower recap, wudijo, Hysteria and Pandaglassjaw all credit Crushing Blow from the Ber rune or runewords such as Strength and Infinity for their boss kills. Maxroll's Paladin guide notes it scales with the enemy's current life, so it does the most work while the target is still healthy.
- Leoric's Crown is close to mandatory at the top. wudijo calls a good one central to most high-end builds, and says gearing took noticeably longer this season.
- Stone of Jordan has a condition. Your highest resistance must match your damage type, which MacroBioBoi warns can be awkward with some Soul Splinter combinations.
- The charm interaction is staying. Blizzard confirmed the Hellfire Torch behaviour is unintended but will not be changed this season. Maxroll includes it only in Push variants, so leaderboard setups differ from farming setups.
- Enigma changes slow builds. Teleport on Evade is why Shield of Retribution now plays fast, and Roxy notes in the same recap that many classes use it for quick Tower and Pit runs.
- Paladin is better than the pre-season talk. wudijo's August ranking had it at C+ overall; after launch, Maxroll's Snail wrote that almost any Paladin skill feels good.
